Intel Sues Insurer Over Antitrust Defense Coverage

Law360, New York (January 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Intel Corp. has sued its insurance company for allegedly failing to defend the computer chip maker in its long-running antitrust battle with rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc., saying the antitrust claims should be covered under the advertising liability provision of its policy.

The microprocessor giant filed a complaint against American Guarantee and Liability Insurance Co. in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Friday, seeking an order compelling continued coverage of its legal costs.
