ICSID To Broadcast German Nuclear Plant Arbitration Hearings

Law360, New York (October 7, 2016, 4:42 PM EDT) -- Two weeks of hearings in an arbitration brought against Germany by the state-owned Swedish energy company Vattenfall AB, which is seeking compensation after the country shut down its nuclear power plants, will be publicly broadcast by the World Bank's International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes.

The hearings on jurisdiction, merits and potential damages will start on Monday, Oct. 10, and continue through Friday, Oct. 21, excluding Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16. They will be broadcast on a four-hour delay to ensure that portions of the hearings involving confidential or sensitive information are omitted from the public broadcast,...
