United's Insurers Fight $400M Settlement Coverage

Law360, New York (January 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Two companies insuring UnitedHealth Group Inc. have asked to be released from paying any of the health insurance giant's $400 million in settlements over alleged out-of-network reimbursement rate manipulation, claiming they were left out of settlement negotiations.

Executive Risk Specialty Insurance Co. and First Specialty Insurance Corp. filed the complaint under seal in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York earlier this month, and it was made available Monday.
