Exxon Rips NY AG's Climate Probe As Politically Motivated

Law360, New York (October 24, 2016, 10:16 PM EDT) -- An attorney for Exxon Mobil Corp. on Monday derided an investigation by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman over whether the oil giant lied to investors about climate-change-related risks to its business, saying it's being targeted for political reasons.

The claim came from Exxon lawyer Theodore V. Wells of Paul Weiss in the midst of a hearing over Schneiderman's bid to force PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Exxon's outside auditor, to comply with a subpoena for documents related to its audits of Exxon.
