Lehman Bankruptcy Judge Arrested For Slapping Wife

Law360, New York (February 2, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Judge James Peck, who presides over the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, was arrested Saturday on charges of attempted assault and harassment for allegedly slapping his wife.

According to a complaint filed in Manhattan criminal court, Judge Peck's wife, Judith Peck, said that her husband struck her in their Park Avenue apartment “with an open palm,” causing “substantial pain to [her] jaw area.”
