Google, Ford Patent Market Nets 56 Deals, $96K Average Price

Law360, New York (November 1, 2016, 6:36 PM EDT) -- A patent marketplace created by a group of major companies including Google, Ford and Verizon generated in its first round 56 purchase offers for more than 100 patents and patent applications and an average sale price of $96,000 per grouping of intellectual property, according to the association.

The Industry Patent Purchase Program created by Allied Security Trust — as the group of companies is known — attracted nearly 1,400 deals offered by 434 patent owners in May and June, generating purchase prices ranging from $10,000 to $325,000, according to...
