Hynix Doc-Shredding Argument Shot Down

Law360 (February 3, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a setback for Hynix Semiconductor Inc., a federal judge has refused to reconsider his rejection of Hynix’s argument that Rambus Inc.’s semiconductor patents were unenforceable because of the destruction of documents, despite a Delaware court’s contradictory ruling last month.

Judge Ronald M. Whyte of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California determined Tuesday that Hynix failed to convince the court that its January 2006 opinion in favor of Rambus was erroneous and denied Hynix’s bid for summary judgment of unenforceability.
