Liberty Mutual Fights Back Against Spitzer

Law360, New York (August 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Liberty Mutual Group has become the first among the insurance giants targeted by Eliot Spitzer to fight against the lawsuits levied by the New York Attorney General, arguing that the complaint Spitzer filed is “fraught with flaws” and thin on facts.

Liberty, the sixth-largest U.S. property and casualty insurer, was sued for its alleged involvement in a bid-rigging scheme that led to policyholders being overcharged.
