Quantum, Winbond Settle Number Generator IP Suit

Law360 (February 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Winbond Electronics Corp. has become the latest computer chip maker to settle a patent infringement suit brought by the Quantum World Corp. over two patents for a random number generator system that are allegedly infringed by chips in several IBM ThinkPad computer models.

Quantum and Winbond filed a joint motion Wednesday to dismiss without prejudice all claims and counterclaims between them in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
