Microsoft To Hold Off Software Changes In Response To Eolas Patent Suit

Law360 (January 30, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Microsoft Corp. suspended plans to make changes to its Windows operating system and Internet Explorer Web browser in response to a controversial patent infringement lawsuit.

“Given the present legal status as well as requests made by partners and customers, Microsoft will, for the time being, not move ahead with the modest steps it intended to take to modify Windows and Internet Explorer as a result of the August jury decision in the Eolas patent lawsuit,” the company said in a statement.
