European Commission To Nix VAT Exemption For Online Sales

Law360, New York (December 1, 2016, 5:32 AM EST) -- The European Commission is proposing an overhaul of its antiquated value-added tax system so that certain online sales from countries outside the European Union will no longer be exempt from the tax, and to reduce compliance costs for small online retailers, the EC announced Thursday.
