Chiquita Denied Forum Dismissal Bid In Colombia TVPA Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (November 29, 2016, 9:51 PM EST) -- Chiquita Brands International Inc. and individual executives failed to persuade a Florida federal judge to dismiss a long-running multidistrict litigation involving Torture Victim Protection Act claims based on forum non conveniens after he ruled Monday the proposed alternative forum of Colombia posed security risks.
