Mich. Officials Blast Claims In Tribe's Tobacco Tax Suit

Law360, New York (December 1, 2016, 7:08 PM EST) -- Michigan state officials told a federal judge on Wednesday that issues brought in a suit from the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community alleging they unlawfully levied taxes on the community and seized its property have already been litigated in a separate case, saying that two courts have held the state is allowed to impose the tax at issue.
