MLB Reaches Labor Deal Just Hours Before Deadline

Law360, New York (December 1, 2016, 5:40 PM EST) -- Major League Baseball and its players’ union reached a tentative labor agreement on Wednesday night, just hours before the prior collective bargaining agreement was set to expire at midnight.

The agreement between the MLB and the Major League Baseball Players Association, which involves a five-year labor pact, now paves the way for what could be 26 straight years of labor peace in professional baseball.

MLB said in a statement Wednesday that the agreement through the 2021 season is still subject to ratification by both parties....
