Pa. House Panel Urges Whistleblower Protections In AG Office

Law360, Philadelphia (December 1, 2016, 2:37 PM EST) -- A Pennsylvania House committee tasked with investigating whether former Attorney General Kathleen Kane should be impeached issued a report Monday recommending legislative action to protect potential whistleblowers in future probes.

The House Subcommittee on Courts concluded that while Kane’s behavior exceeded the standard of “misbehavior in office” that would merit impeachment, it saw no reason to pursue that outcome given her August resignation after a conviction on perjury and other charges.
