Starbucks Chief Howard Schultz to Step Down Next Year

Law360, New York (December 1, 2016, 8:13 PM EST) -- Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz will leave his post after 19 years, he announced Thursday, yielding the reins to chief operating officer Kevin Johnson, who has reportedly been unofficially at the helm for months.

Johnson has also been a member of the board of directors for seven years, the company said. Schultz will not leave the company; he is set to become executive chairman and will lead an aggressive push into a line of premium-tier stores called Starbucks Reserve when he changes roles on April 3, 2017....
