DC Circ. Rejects Verizon Petition Over 'Porting'

Law360 (February 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- An appellate court has found that the Federal Communications Commission was reasonable when it said Verizon Communications Inc. couldn't contact customers with price discounts when it had been alerted that they were going to switch service.

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit denied a bid by Verizon to review an FCC holding that it had violated federal restrictions on carriers using a rival's proprietary information for marketing purposes.
