Class Certified In Car Rental Suit V. Nationwide

Law360, New York (February 11, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge overseeing a lawsuit accusing Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. of terminating policyholders' car rental benefits too soon after auto accidents has granted the plaintiffs' bid for class certification, but certified a narrower class than the plaintiffs had sought.

Judge James S. Gwin of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio signed off on an opinion and order on Tuesday allowing the breach of contract suit against Nationwide to go forward as a class action.
