Facing Criminal Price-Fixing Investigations In The US

Law360 (February 11, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Cartel enforcement in the United States continues unabated. It's been some 14 years since the lysine case launched the modern era of international cartel enforcement.

Since that time, the United States has been immensely successful in implementing its own cartel program, with recent criminal fines reaching over $585 million in the LCD investigation, $730 million in the DRAM investigation and $1 billion in the air cargo investigation, and jail terms imposed amounting to as high as four years in the coastal freight transportation investigation.
