Silicon Graphics Bids For Chapter 11 Control

Law360, New York (August 16, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Three weeks after a federal bankruptcy judge approved Silicon Graphics Inc.’s disclosure statement, the high-performance computer maker is seeking to retain control over its Chapter 11 case while creditors vote on its reorganization plan.

In court documents filed Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, the company requested that U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Burton R. Lifland allow an extension of its exclusive filing period from September 5 to December 29.
