Acer, License Cos. Dismiss Microprocessor IP Suit

Law360 (February 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has agreed to dismiss a case brought by two patent-licensing companies against computer products maker Acer Inc. over a patent describing a high-performance, low-cost microprocessor, just a day after dismissing a similar suit against Asustek Computer Inc.

Judge T. John Ward of the U.S District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Friday signed an order dismissing without prejudice the case brought by plaintiffs Technology Properties Limited Inc. and Patriot Scientific Corp. against Acer and subsidiaries Acer America Corp. and Gateway Inc....
