1st Circ. Revives Libel Suit Against Staples

Law360, New York (February 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal appeals court panel ruled Friday that a former Staples Inc. salesman may have been libeled when the company sent a mass e-mail to about 1,500 employees informing them of his termination for allegedly padding expense reports.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit had originally affirmed a summary judgment ruling against the employee, Alan S. Noonan.
