Symbol Settles Dispute Over Batteries

Law360, New York (August 17, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In another electrifying event for the company, Symbol Technologies Inc. put the finishing touches on its settlement with Global Technology Systems over an intellectual property dispute relating to GTS’ Honeywell batteries.

Holtsville, N.Y.-based Symbol sued GTS in June, accusing the company of stealing Symbol’s patents to produce aftermarket batteries under the Honeywell Batteries brand. The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
