Cuomo Makes Deals With Cigna, WellPoint In Probe

Law360 (February 18, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The New York attorney general has reached agreements with Cigna Corp. and WellPoint Inc. that call for each to pay $10 million as part of a probe into an alleged scheme to defraud consumers by manipulating insurance reimbursement rates.

Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said the payments would go toward creating an independent database to help determine out-of-network reimbursement rates for consumers.
