Labor Nominee Puzder's Workers Sound Off At Dems' Forum

Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Patty Murray, D-Wash., led a forum Tuesday in which they heard testimony from workers at Carl's Jr. and Hardee's, the fast food chains operated by U.S. Labor Secretary nominee Andrew Puzder, detailing instances of wage theft and other restrictive employment practices.
Warren and Murray organized the forum after Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., who leads the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, denied a request by 23 Democratic senators to have the workers testify at Puzder's forthcoming confirmation hearing. Murray is the ranking member of the HELP committee.
