Rail Suit Jurisdiction Dispute Chugs Into Supreme Court
Law360, New York (January 13, 2017, 10:47 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Friday to take up a jurisdictional dispute involving BNSF Railway Co.'s challenge to a Montana high court ruling that two injured out-of-state railroad workers could sue the company in Big Sky Country.
In a five sentence order, the high court granted BNSF’s petition for a writ of certiorari and allowed amicus briefs from the National Association of Manufacturers, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Association of American Railroads and the Washington Legal Foundation.
