EPA's New Risk Management Rule Is Here ... For Now

Law360, New York (January 13, 2017, 5:00 PM EST) -- On Jan. 13, 2017, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency published "Accidental Release Prevention Requirements: Risk Management Programs under the Clean Air Act," a final rule amending EPA's Risk Management Program regulations at 40 CFR part 68.

The final rule makes revisions and additions to the Risk Management Program accident prevention requirements, emergency response requirements, and requirements applicable to the public availability of certain chemical hazard and facility information. The final rule becomes effective March 14, 2017.
