BMS Settles Container Patent Suit Against Abbott

Law360 (February 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Bristol Myers-Squibb Co. said Friday that it has settled its infringement suit against Abbott Laboratories over a patent for a baby formula container.

The suit, filed in September, claimed Abbott's Similac SimplePac container infringed a BMS patent issued in May 2006 for a container with an attached scoop, U.S. Patent Number 7,040,500.
