EEOC Sues Ariz. Wine Bar For Sex Harassment, Retaliation

Law360, New York (January 23, 2017, 8:01 PM EST) -- The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission sued an Arizona wine bar Friday, accusing it of discriminating against a gay employee and his friend and coworker for their actual or perceived sexual orientation and of firing one of them in retaliation for threatening to take legal action.

Wyatt Lupton and Jared Bahnick, both employees at Scottsdale establishment 5th & Wine, were mistreated by coworkers and verbally harassed, touched inappropriately and threatened even after they stated they were uncomfortable with their coworkers’ behavior, the agency alleged in the Friday complaint.
