Texas Judge Pleads Guilty To Obstruction Of Justice

Law360, New York (February 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- U.S. District Judge Samuel Kent on Monday pled guilty to obstructing investigators in a case that accuses him of sexually harassing two women in a Texas courthouse, and immediately retired from the bench.

Kent, who pled not guilty on Jan. 7 to five counts of sexual abuse and one count of obstruction of justice, changed his plea on the day jury selection was to begin for his trial in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
