FAA, DOT Face Suit Seeking Air Safety Reform

Law360 (February 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- An airline safety advocate has sued the U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration, claiming hundreds have died because the agencies failed to adopt the air travel safety standards recommended by the National Transportation Safety Board.

National Air Disaster Alliance Director Gail Dunham filed the lawsuit on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, alleging that FAA Acting Administrator Lynne Osmus and U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood have failed to enact adequate air safety measures.
