EPA Secures $3M In Mine Superfund Suit Settlement

Law360, New York (February 25, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal court has approved a $3 million settlement between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and gold producer Newmont Capital Ltd. to cover part of an estimated $50 million cleanup cost at a former California gold mine that has leaked toxic waste for decades.
