Fed. Circ. OKs Amazon's Alice Win In Appistry Patent Suits

Law360, Los Angeles (February 10, 2017, 4:24 PM EST) -- A Federal Circuit panel confirmed a pair of Amazon patent wins under the U.S. Supreme Court’s Alice standards on Friday when it affirmed two lower court rulings tossing out infringement allegations from Appistry Inc. over its computing patents.

Appistry has alleged since 2013 that Amazon infringed its patents for computer processing after it divulged their specifications during failed licensing talks about a decade earlier.  It appealed two Washington federal court decisions that found its patents didn’t pass muster under the high court’s 2014’s Alice Corp v.
