Suit V. EPA Over CERCLA Finance Rules Gets OK

Law360 (February 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Environmental groups alleging the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency failed to hold mining and other industries financially accountable for hazardous waste cleanup have standing to sue the regulator, a federal judge has ruled.

On Wednesday, Judge William Alsup of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California partially granted and partially denied cross-motions for summary judgment from the federal government and from green groups led by the Sierra Club.
