AGs Reach Deal With Coke Over Weight-Loss Claims

Law360, New York (February 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Coca-Cola Co. and Nestle SA have agreed to pay $650,000 and add marketing disclosures to resolve a government investigation into whether they fraudulently claimed that their Enviga green tea soft drink caused weight loss.

The settlement was announced by attorneys general from 26 states and the District of Columbia, who have been investigating Enviga since 2007. Those states will split the money, getting on average about $24,000 each.
