FTC Challenges Natural Gas Storage Merger

Law360, New York (August 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The merger of two natural gas storage companies has been thrown into jeopardy, after the U.S. Federal Trade Commission challenged the deal on the grounds that the transaction would result in higher prices for consumers.

Natural gas liquids storage businesses Enterprise Product Partners LP and TEPPCO Partners LP had submitted a plan to the FTC that would combine both entities into one enterprise.
