CEOs Mobilize To Back Border Adjustment Tax

By Chuck Stanley (February 21, 2017, 5:20 PM EST) -- Chief executives from 16 companies wrote congressional leaders Tuesday in praise of a GOP proposal to dramatically change the U.S. corporate tax code, urging the lawmakers to act boldly in rewriting it.

The letter, signed by Dennis Muilenburg of the Boeing Co., Jim Umpleby of Caterpillar Inc., Jeffrey Immelt of General Electric Co., Andrew Liveris of The Dow Chemical Co. and others, praised the Republican blueprint for tax reform released last summer, saying the "destination-based" corporate income tax scheme would incentivize capital investment, stop corporate inversions and acquisitions, and spur job growth in the U.S.
