Telecom Leaders Weigh In On FCC's $19.6B Spectrum Auction

Law360, New York (March 2, 2017, 3:50 PM EST) -- Telecom industry players at a Senate subcommittee hearing on Thursday voiced optimism and concern over the Federal Communications Commission’s recent wireless spectrum auction that raked in more than $19.6 billion and set aside 84 MHz of spectrum for broadband use.

At the hearing of the Senate Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, Innovation, and the Internet, titled “Exploring the Value of Spectrum to the U.S. Economy,” private industry leaders applauded the auction’s boost to wireless technology, but others said the 39-month rollout period is overly optimistic.
