Judge Alsup Orders Young Attys To Argue In Oculus Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (March 6, 2017, 5:52 PM EST) -- California's U.S. District Judge William Alsup on Friday encouraged counsel in a contract fight between Total Recall Technologies and Facebook’s Oculus VR LLC to include “the next generation” of attorneys in upcoming proceedings, the most recent in a slew of orders looking to create opportunities for younger lawyers.

Total Recall accuses Oculus founder Palmer Luckey of violating a 2011 nondisclosure and exclusivity agreement. The suit says Luckey agreed to develop a virtual reality headset with backing from Total Recall, but he used what he learned from the partnership to start Oculus, which Facebook Inc. acquired for $2 billion in 2014....
