Law360, New York (March 7, 2017, 9:34 PM EST) -- Congressional Republicans on Monday unveiled their long-awaited plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, a proposal that would change the legal landscape for large businesses by scrapping the requirement to provide health coverage to employees or face penalties.
Dubbed the American Health Care Act, the GOP's proposal would in part eliminate its predecessor's taxes and fees on health insurance, medical devices, prescription drugs and high-income Americans; make changes to Medicaid; and replace the ACA's individual mandate with a 30 percent premium surcharge for Americans who go without insurance for more than two months.
