Lead Plaintiff Appointed In Cadence Suits

Law360, New York (March 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has consolidated three putative securities class actions related to Cadence Design Systems Inc.’s overstatement of revenue last year and appointed Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins LLP to represent the lead plaintiff in the case.

Judge Samuel Conti of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Wednesday granted the plaintiffs’ motion that the three shareholder actions should be linked because they share common questions of law. The judge also elevated Alaska Electrical Pension Fund to lead plaintiff.
