No Class Cert. In Title VII Suit V. Interstate Bakeries

Law360 (March 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A district court judge has denied class certification to 11 employees of the formerly bankrupt Interstate Bakeries Corp. who alleged racial discrimination against at least 140 current and former employees.

District Judge Roslynn Mauskopf of the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of New York upheld a Feb. 5 recommendation that the court refuse to certify the class on the basis of a lack of commonality.
