ACA Repeal Bill's Impact On Employers, Group Health Plans

Law360, New York (March 17, 2017, 10:47 AM EDT) -- On March 6, the House Ways and Means Committee and Energy and Commerce Committee unveiled the American Health Care Act (AHCA), a bill partially repealing and replacing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The ACA was signed into law in 2010 by then-President Barack Obama and made major changes to the federal laws governing the provision of health care and insurance, including employer-sponsored group health plans (GHPs), Medicaid and the individual insurance market. The AHCA is expected to reach the House floor for a vote as early as March 20 and will need to pass in the Senate as well before it can be signed by the president....
