Judge Stays $350M FCA Judgments Against Nursing Cos.

Law360, Miami (March 15, 2017, 9:35 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Wednesday stayed the execution of nearly $350 million in False Claims Act judgments against nursing home operators for fear the government's collection of the judgments could lead to the sudden closing of numerous facilities.

U.S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday barred the collection of the judgments while the various nursing home entities, including management company CMC II LLC, pursue post-trial motions.
