Del Monte To Get Clarification On $32M Pineapple Award

By Chuck Stanley (March 27, 2017, 10:53 PM EDT) -- The Eleventh Circuit on Monday remanded to a Florida district court a fruit grower's challenge to a $32 million arbitration award to Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc., because the district judge's decision tossing the suit did not explicitly grant Del Monte's request to confirm the award.

The appeals court said it could not hear an appeal by the fruit grower, known as Inprotsa, of U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno's Dec. 6 order denying its challenge to the arbitral award, because it is not clear from the decision whether it is a final appealable order.
