Deals Rumor Mill: SoftBank, Saudi Aramco, HSH Nordbank

By Benjamin Horney (March 30, 2017, 3:06 PM EDT) -- SoftBank Group Corp. is interested in pledging about $6 billion to assist Uber Technologies Inc. rival Didi Chuxing Technology Co. with the development of self-driving car technologies, according to a Thursday report from The Wall Street Journal. Most of the investment would come from a planned $100 billion fund being raised by SoftBank that will focus on technology investments, the report said. That fund, which was originally supposed to begin raising capital in January, has been delayed as SoftBank discusses terms with potential investors including Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates' Mubadala Development Co., Apple Inc., Qualcomm Inc. and Oracle Corp., the report said. ...
