Judge Tosses Cintas' RICO Claims Against Unions

Law360 (March 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed Cintas Corp.'s claims that union actions violated the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, handing a victory to three unions in their long-running battle with the uniform supplier.

Judge William H. Pauley III dismissed Cintas' claims against three labor groups on Monday, saying the unions' campaigns to criticize the company did not constitute extortion under the Hobbs Act.
