Ecuador Lawyers Accuse Chevron Of 'Delay Tactics'

Law360 (March 11, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Lawyers representing plaintiffs in the long-standing environmental lawsuit against Chevron Corp. have accused the oil giant of attempting to delay a final decision on whether it is liable for cleanup costs in the Amazon rainforest, saying the company dragged its feet on performing additional soil testing that ended up revealing "large amounts" of oil.
