SEC Settles With Barnhill Associates Ex-President

Law360, New York (March 11, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has struck a settlement deal with the former president of software reseller Barnhill Associates Inc., which the SEC alleged engaged in a series of sham transactions that software company Peregrine Systems Inc. used to artificially inflate its value.

On March 4, Judge John A. Houston of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California entered an amended final judgment by consent against Michael D. Whitt, the ex-president of Barnhill, a

reseller of Peregrine's software.
