Dish Sues Insurers For Coverage In Katz Patent Suit

Law360 (March 11, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Dish Network Corp. has filed suit against a group of insurers it claims owe coverage for an infringement suit the satellite TV provider is facing from billionaire inventor Ronald A. Katz over patents for telephone systems.

Dish claims it has either primary or umbrella liability policies since 2001 that obligate the insurers to provide a defense in the suit and indemnification against any adverse judgment, according to an amended complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
